Sawubona. Molo. Dumela. Hello.
Right now your next job depends on somebody remembering your name. Mendly puts your name where people are already looking.
It takes about two minutes. If you know someone who should be on here, you can sign them up yourself.
A good painter known by forty people and a mediocre one known by four thousand — that’s not a skills gap, it’s a distribution gap. It’s the only thing standing between you and a full week.
Your clients do. Every finished job adds a rating that stays on your profile.
You put in your day rate. Nobody bids against you, nobody knocks you down.
What she pays you for the work is between the two of you. Mendly does not hold or release job payments.
Go available so clients nearby can find you, track your work, see how much you’re earning, and vouch for the people you’d put your own name behind.

Step 1 of 4
Four steps: your cell number, the code we text you, your name, the work you do, and a pin on the map so clients nearby can find you — they only ever see your suburb.

Your turn — quote your day rate or decline.
Paint two bedrooms and a passage. Walls only, ceilings are fine. Paint already bought.
Not a bidding site — not an auction where five people undercut each other until nobody makes money. She asks, you quote your day rate, she says yes or no. Declining costs you nothing.

Your turn — start the job once Mrs Pillay arrives.
No transport of your own is not a problem. Being fetched is a normal step in a Mendly job.
Confirmed → being fetched → in progress → done. She marks that she is on her way to fetch you; you tap Start job when you arrive together and Job done when it is finished.
Sign up the people you’d put your own name behind, and see when they’re available and how much work they’re getting. Complete jobs with good ratings on the Community track and Mendly may invite you to graduate to the Standard track — quotes, invoices, a client book, same account. There’s no deadline on it — stay Community for as long as it works for you.

The app opens in the browser you already have and installs to your home screen. There is nothing to download from an app store and nothing filling up your storage.
"Being fetched" is a real stage in a Mendly job — she marks that she is on her way, you both see it, and nobody has to explain anything.
You don't need to be — that's exactly why this side of Mendly exists. Complete jobs with good ratings on the Community track and Mendly may invite you to the Standard track without reapplying, or you can request it yourself whenever you're ready. Staying on Community for as long as you like is always fine too. Full details are in our Community Provider terms.
Nobody. You drop a pin so the app knows roughly where you are, but clients only ever see your suburb — and they only get your number once you have accepted a job.
Tap "Stop showing me". You disappear from browse until you switch back on, so nobody wastes your time and you never look unreliable for a call you couldn't take.
Two minutes, your phone, nothing else. Or sign up someone you’d vouch for.
